Matthew 6:34 - Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don't get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.

Getting Worked Up

What’s going to happen tomorrow? You have your plans, you’re organized, your calendar looks pretty good for tomorrow and the rest of the week. But who really knows what will happen tomorrow?Life comes with its own surprises. Sometimes we’re ready for them and then sometimes the bottom drops out.

We try to prepare for when the bottom drops out that it won’t be so bad. We save money. We stock up on canned foods. We check off our very detailed list. And then we get worked up because maybe we don’t have everything covered. I mean, what if something happens that we’re not prepared for?

We don’t know what will happen tomorrow. We don’t even know fully what will happen in the next couple of hours, and not even the next hour. So, what do we do?

Give your attention to what God is doing right now.

I have this personal theory about heaven. Don’t put too much weight on it, cause it’s just a thought. We are trapped by time now. In heaven, there is only eternity. We won’t grow old or weaken by time. My theory is - there is no time, so, everything is right now. Everything happens, experienced, is fulfilled - now. Not the literal now, but the heaven now.

Think about today like that. Give your attention to what God is doing now. God is Sovereign. He is Providential. If we give our attention to what He’s doing now, don’t you know that He’ll take care of our tomorrow and even use what we’re doing now in it.

Don’t give all your worries and attention to tomorrow. It’s about what God is doing now!
