Proverbs 27:19 - Just as water mirrors your face, so your face mirrors your heart.
In Your Face!

I looked at my face a day ago and noticed more pronounced lines and bags around my eyes. I heard Preparation H helps remove lines around your eyes. I don’t think I’ll test that theory.
Every now and then, we’ll be out and about around town and I’ll see someone from high school. Honestly, it’s weird how people I graduated with 30 years ago look so much older than me. I also maybe in denial.
Your face tells a story. If you lived hard, your face shows. If you smoke and drink, your face shows. If you fake a smile, your face shows. If you’re 50 and you have no wrinkles and bags under your eyes - nice job with the Preparation H!
Your face also reflects what’s in your heart. What does your face reflect?
This verse doesn’t teach us to effectively hide and mask what’s in our hearts, but rather brings us to the realization that we need to be transparent and vulnerable in our lives to others, even in our faces.
Hard times show in our faces. But hope does as well. That foundation of hope and faith in Christ overpowers and shines through any struggle that may show.
When people see our face, they’ll see the effects of genetics and life. They’ll also see the overwhelming strength and endurance of the hope that bursts through everything else.
It’s in your face!
